Carry film in clear bags and request hand checks where possible, since some modern CT systems can fog even low-speed stocks. Avoid checked luggage, keep canisters cool, and don’t leave rolls in sunlit dashboards. Instant film particularly dislikes scanners. If you must pass security machines repeatedly, separate unshot and exposed rolls to monitor any cumulative effects during later inspection.
Write exposure indexes, filters used, and intended look on roll labels and in a pocket notebook. If café frames ran dim, a push may recover midtones with added grain that suits atmosphere. Ask for contact sheets to evaluate sequences, then mark frames to print or scan at higher resolution. Communicate contrast preferences so your lab helps realize the altitude mood you saw.
